Hope for the future in the Diocese of Northampton

Your prayers are requested for Andrew Richardson & Simon Penhalagon after their Ordination to the Diaconate on 16th June at St Mary's College , Oscott ; by Archbishop Vincent Nicholls.

Let's hope this year's service preaching the Gospel and serving the faithful prepares them for the Priesthood next summer - although I've already warned them that if they start this weekly 'day off from ministry' mullarkey that their previous Oscott counterparts persisted in I'll start interceding to St John Vianney that they never get a minute's peace - Ever!! Luckily, word on the grapevine suggests that they're a pair of good 'uns so they'll actually be acting according to their vocation ; so they'll be in even more need of our prayers!!! God Bless you both !
To live in the midst of the world without wishing its pleasures;
To be a member of each family, yet belonging to none;
To share all sufferings; to penetrate all secrets;
to heal all wounds;
To go from men to God and offer Him their prayers;
To return from God to men to bring pardon and hope;
To have a heart of fire for charity, and
A heart of bronze for chastity;
To teach, pardon, console, and bless—always.
What a glorious life,
And it is yours
O priest of Jesus Christ.
