Mgr Drainey got the 'job'...don't ask me why ; but I'd have thought a catholic might have served better as Bishop . At least there's the saving grace that Ushaw seminarians haven't to deal with his weird initiatives/policies and frankly downright objectionable agenda. How dare the man be so presumptuous as to run 'training days' for foreign priests to assimilate into Britain's clerical compromises and pragmatisms with modern secularism ! Bless his little cotton socks !
We should pray hard for the new shepherd, but for his sheep also.

Can a lepoard change his spots?..
yes !
can you seriously judge a priest's entire ministry by what has been reported to you second hand.?
while one would not always agree with certain stances and opinions we must always rely on the consolation that the Holy Spirit guides GOD's holy Church and chooses those he thinks best for the task in hand
God help the bishop-elect. let's not criticise him before his consecration and the mitre isn't even placed upon his head.
I wuld say 'challenge' rather than criticize - Mgr Drainey has so far displayed extraordinary arrogance in attempting to 'secularize' foreign priests...nor is his Ushaw record good at all - I'm praying hard for a metanoia
